Honoring Shmuel Zigelboym

Chelm, Poland

In the Polish city of Chelm the Jan Karski Society and the artisans of the Lublin Chamber of Crafts honored the leading Bundist Shmuel Zigelboym. The board of honor will be placed at a building where Zigelboym used to live for 19 years. It is recalling the "great patriot's" political positions and remembers his tragic suicide in London 1943 - which he commited "in order to protest against the world's ignorance of the crimes of the Holocaust and the lack of any support for the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto."
